Carson City Voters --- The Secretary of State recently sent every active, registered voter a voter registration identification card but regretfully, included a flyer asking you to return the card with an updated signature - Carson City did not make that request and if you received a card -- that means you are active and will be receiving a sample and mail ballot soon. Here is the press release explaining the situation. We take your private information seriously and would not ask for that -- Just Vote this General Election!
Due to an error on mail ballots, active voters in Carson City will receive a corrected ballot this week in an envelope marked Corrected Ballot. If you already returned the original ballot, submit the corrected one. If you return both ballots, only the corrected ballot will count. If you don't submit a corrected ballot, your original ballot will be counted. Please click here for more information.
Part of the election process is completing a logic and accuracy test of our voting equipment to be used in the 2024 General Election. The Elections Department is conducting this on Monday, October 14 at 1 p.m.. Click here for a description of the protocol.

MESSAGES TO VOTERS:
-
Carson City Elections is involved with implementing a new state wide top-down voter registration system and are involved with upgrading our capabilities for the 2024 General Election. This will prevent us from sending out Voter Registration Cards during the ten day requirement. The voter registration system will also prevent voters from updating or confirming voter information. Click here for the Secretary of State Memo regarding this .
- Keep your voting information current! Failure to respond to a mailing from the Carson City Clerk's office may place your voting status as inactive. If your status is inactive, you will not receive a sample ballot or mail ballot.
- If you need to change your name or political party affiliation, you will need to complete a new Voter Registration Application. If you need to change your physical and/or mailing address you may complete a Change of Address Form.
- Giving false information on a Voter Registration Application is a category E felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130.
- If your address in Carson City has the zip code 89704, 89705, or 89706 you may be a resident of Washoe County, Douglas County, or Lyon County. Please verify your correct county prior to registering to vote in Carson City.
